5 April 2020, Kuala Lumpur – Heineken Malaysia Berhad (HEINEKEN Malaysia) has recently received approval from the Government for the Company to resume limited operations with a minimal number of essential workers during the Government’s Movement Control Order (MCO).
HEINEKEN Malaysia would like to thank the Government and relevant authorities for granting this approval to ensure the continued supply of our products to retail outlets that are allowed to operate during the MCO period e.g. supermarkets, provision shops and convenience stores.
As a responsible corporate citizen, HEINEKEN Malaysia will ensure full compliance with the Government’s requirements and guidelines during the MCO period. Our first priority remains the health, safety and wellbeing of the people.
- Only very essential staff (less than 10% of our workforce) will be involved in ensuring continuous and uninterrupted supply of our products in the market. All our other non-essential workers will continue to operate from home.
- Temperature screening, social distancing, segregation of workforce into batches, sanitisation of the workplace and common areas and wearing of face masks will be mandatory for all our workers particularly for those who have to carry out the essential works.
- To ensure full compliance with the Government approval, only the essential workers whose names have been submitted and approved will carry the Government approved letter and other Company documentation to enable them to carry out their duties.
- We have an obligation to ensure continuous supply of our products, maintain the employment of our people and to contribute positively to the economic recovery of our nation.
The Company will make the necessary announcement on any other material developments relating to the above matter, as and when appropriate.
